When talking about Mexico, the thought of a colourful skull make-up and colourful clothes is not far away. The elaborate facial decorations and traditional costumes with floral hair ornaments have their origins in the celebrations of “Día de los Muertos” – one of Mexico’s most important holidays which is just around the corner. From October 31st until November 2nd Mexicans gather with friends and family to pay respect to the ones who have died. Rather than a day of mourning, it is a joyful celebration with music, food, dance, and Tequila.
