‘She’s from Mexico, Señores, and her name is the Margarita Cocktail – and she is lovely to look at, exciting and provocative.’ With this declaration of love, the margarita got its first mention in the press in 1953. Legends about a beautiful diva and a growing cocktail fan base provided the ideal basis for the famous men’s magazine Esquire to give a stage to the margarita in an article entitled ‘Painting the Town’. The name of the article says it all.
Every margarita is a colour-intensive creation of tequila, lime and sun-ripened fruits. Tequila and the juice of the lime form the basis of every margarita. The juice of virtually any fresh fruit can give the margarita a new face full of character. Agave or other syrups balance the margarita perfectly. Mixing a margarita is not an art form; it is the thrilling balancing act of profession and passion with a personal signature.
